La Messicole awarded at Tindirindis 2011

Good news,

My short film 'La Messicole' has been awarded "best music video clip" at the 9th International Animation Film Festival Tindirindis 2011 in Vilnius, Lithuania. I'm particularly proud of my brother Robin who wrote and performed the soundtrack to the film – thanks, Robin!

Also congrats to Martin Groetzschel, who's film "Conformis" won in the category "Experimental film". I met him lately and will be working on a project with him soon.

Here you can see the list of the awarded films and a list of all the nominated films.

Festival update

'La Messicole' aka 'The Cornflower' was accepted by three more film festivals. I'm proud that it made it into the official competition selection of Encounters Bristol animation festival 2011!

Another one is Anifest Rozafa which takes place in Shkodra, Albania in September.
And the other one is Tindirindis International Animated Film Festival 2011 in Vilnius, Lithuania. 'La messicole' was selected into the category 'animated music video clips' which means also big thanks again to my brother Robin, who made the music for the film! Unfortunately I won't be able to be at Anifest Rozafa. Maybe I'll make it to Lithuania.

La Messicole: rough animation

At the degree show, some people were interested in seeing the rough animation of my film. So I'll upload one of the latest versions of the roughcut here as well. The ending is still different and I didn't like it at that time. The music is still a layout that I played by myself.
So far, I'm off now for a short trip outside. But I got some paperwork and burned DVDs ready for submission to different festivals!

La Messicole

La Messicole from Hannes on Vimeo.

Yesterday, our films were screened at the show in our studio. I received a lot of good feedback on it and was quite happy about that. I uploaded the final film on my vimeo account, so that also people who can't make it to the public degree show on Monday and Tuesday can see it. To keep the end titles shorter than the film itself, I just wrote few people in there, but there are far more people, that were involved into my work, helped me or inspired me. Special thanks to my coursemates. We were constantly talking about each other's work, helping each other and giving feedback. So thanks to all of you guys! I'm going to miss the great working atmosphere in the studio, sharing food in the lunchbreak, sitting on the walkway in the sun or, in winter, in that white common room downstairs. Having a lazy walk around the block or having a pint after work. I really had a good time here! On Wednesday, I'm going to leave my flat in Bermondsey, from then I will travel England, Wales and Scotland for a while to be back for the Awards Ceremony in July, and then I'm off to Germany again, where I'm going to do something, somewhere, trying to get a bit of money with it ;D Farewell, student life, farewell!
