Bristol & London November 2011

Last week I went to Bristol for the screening of La Messicole at the Encounters Short Film Festival. I met the hero of my youth there, the legendary John K, who was sitting in front of the cinema and drawing people there (you see the drawings on his blog). The queue was so long that I decided to go for the quicker autograph queue and have him sketch a little Ren into my sketchbook.

Also I was showcasing La Messicole and other stuff to the new MA Character Animation course at  Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in the new fancy building at King's Cross and I was invited by the 'couch film society' to showcase stuff at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication in Greenwich. Here is a trailer of the evenings program:

La Messicole awarded at Tindirindis 2011

Good news,

My short film 'La Messicole' has been awarded "best music video clip" at the 9th International Animation Film Festival Tindirindis 2011 in Vilnius, Lithuania. I'm particularly proud of my brother Robin who wrote and performed the soundtrack to the film – thanks, Robin!

Also congrats to Martin Groetzschel, who's film "Conformis" won in the category "Experimental film". I met him lately and will be working on a project with him soon.

Here you can see the list of the awarded films and a list of all the nominated films.

Festival update

'La Messicole' aka 'The Cornflower' was accepted by three more film festivals. I'm proud that it made it into the official competition selection of Encounters Bristol animation festival 2011!

Another one is Anifest Rozafa which takes place in Shkodra, Albania in September.
And the other one is Tindirindis International Animated Film Festival 2011 in Vilnius, Lithuania. 'La messicole' was selected into the category 'animated music video clips' which means also big thanks again to my brother Robin, who made the music for the film! Unfortunately I won't be able to be at Anifest Rozafa. Maybe I'll make it to Lithuania.
