Hi, it's been a while. I've set up a new blog on tumblr and also an instagram account, where you can find some more regularly updated stuff.
In the meantime, I'll add some more recent work here. So, I've worked on "The Amazing World of Gumball" for ages, starting out as a Clean Up/In-Betweener on season 2 at Studio Soi in November 2011 and working as a key animator in London in season 3 to 5 until the end of 2016, plus even a little bit on two episodes of season 6 last year. I've edited a reel of some of my favorite shots here, check it out and leave a comment or a thumb up if you like it!

Don lipsync test
I've done a little animation test with the Don character from my Cigarette Butts project, just to see what he looks like when he's talking...

TAWOG S3 / rough animation
Here are a few little gifs of some animation I made on 'The Amazing World of Gumball' Season 3. On the first one I did a straight forward thumbnail pass first and then went on to more 'on model' roughs. It's a background action in the episode "The Password". I hopefully will find some time to update my showreel soon.

Bongoroots web advert (2)
Ok, I promised to post it last week but I didn't... well here it is finally, the Bongoroots web advert.
Lately, I was lucky to meet the well known german animation director Andreas Hykade (Love And Theft, The Runt, We lived in Grass) and took the chance to show him the spot and get some feedback on it. So I adjusted a few more things and the thing improved quite well.
Bongoroots is an afro-caribbean restaurant and catering service in Tübingen. The spot might run in local TV-channels and cinemas of Tübingen area in a while, but it is mainly produced for web.
If you happen to live around Tübingen/Stuttgart area, please feel free to share the video with your friends. Feel free to share it anyway, of course. And please write comments, I need your feedback! Thanks!

La Messicole: rough animation
At the degree show, some people were interested in seeing the rough animation of my film. So I'll upload one of the latest versions of the roughcut here as well. The ending is still different and I didn't like it at that time. The music is still a layout that I played by myself.
So far, I'm off now for a short trip outside. But I got some paperwork and burned DVDs ready for submission to different festivals!

La Messicole
La Messicole from Hannes on Vimeo.
Yesterday, our films were screened at the show in our studio. I received a lot of good feedback on it and was quite happy about that. I uploaded the final film on my vimeo account, so that also people who can't make it to the public degree show on Monday and Tuesday can see it. To keep the end titles shorter than the film itself, I just wrote few people in there, but there are far more people, that were involved into my work, helped me or inspired me. Special thanks to my coursemates. We were constantly talking about each other's work, helping each other and giving feedback. So thanks to all of you guys! I'm going to miss the great working atmosphere in the studio, sharing food in the lunchbreak, sitting on the walkway in the sun or, in winter, in that white common room downstairs. Having a lazy walk around the block or having a pint after work. I really had a good time here! On Wednesday, I'm going to leave my flat in Bermondsey, from then I will travel England, Wales and Scotland for a while to be back for the Awards Ceremony in July, and then I'm off to Germany again, where I'm going to do something, somewhere, trying to get a bit of money with it ;D Farewell, student life, farewell!
